André Hakizimana joined the organization as Project Manager “Empowering Youth Together” which JSBM runs in partnership with KIYO Belgium. He coordinates the team of this project which is implemented in two provinces. André is a consultant in Communication, Media and Public Relations. Recently, he was Communication Manager of the NGO Médecins Sans Frontières in Mali. He worked in communications for many years, including positions as a correspondent in Bujumbura for AITV (Agence Internationale d’Images de France Télévision), Le Monde Afrique and APA News and was responsible for communication for several local organizations in Burundi.
André also served as a journalist for Radio Voix de la Paix and Grands-Lacs TV. He is the Director of the Umuringa Agency and Publication Director of Umuringa Magazine. He is also known in Burundian events where he works as an event consultant. André graduated in Political Science and International Relations from the Lumière University of Bujumbura.
