Growing up as a boy scout in an underprivileged community, Hardy learns from a younger age how to serve others. At the age of 9, he wanted to live with street children but was encouraged by his mother, who is a teacher, to continue his education and that he would eventually find a way to help them later.
After graduating from high school at 21 years old, Hardy formed JSBM by engaging more youth to drive a social change as a non-profit organization. He is determined to reach an ideal where every young person is a change maker in their community.
Hardy has over 9 years working with vulnerable communities. Besides that, he is a former Curator of Global Shapers Community Bujumbura Hub, Holland Alumni and Theirworld’s Global Youth Ambassador alumni.
He holds a bachelor’s degree in International Business and a minor in Fiscal Decentralization and Local Finance at The Hague Academy for Local Governance. He was also recognized by a local media company, Yaga, among 10 Burundian youth in 2020 who are making a difference in their country.
In his spare time, Hardy enjoys swimming, hiking and spending time with his friends and family.
